Recording

Pedro Aida has recorded Richmond bands for more than twenty years. Before moving here in 2002, he interned with Brian McTernan at Salad Days in Baltimore. In Richmond, he became a full-time engineer at Sound of Music and later opened Audio Verité.

His credits include Ann Beretta’s RISE, Positive No, and The Iron Roses’ Molotov Nights, plus sessions with Dead Fame, Fun Size, and Paper Trail. He plays guitar with Ann Beretta and The Iron Roses and sings with Fire Sale.

We asked Pedro to work on It Doesn’t Bother Me because we wanted the guitars heavy and the hook intact. His records with Ann Beretta and Positive No showed us he could do both. That was enough for us.

Case joined Coldon, James, and Jake for the sessions. Most of the photographs on this page come from those days in the room: guitars against the studio wall, people waiting for their turn, Pedro at the console. We kept them in sequence so the page can show the work without pretending every frame is a revelation. Andreas Magnusson mastered the finished track. His pass kept the hook clear when the band got loud.

These photographs are from the sessions.
